Join Ms. Gina Marie Slager for a special Children's Singsong and Yoga program on Monday mornings from 10:00am - 10:30am. Gina Marie's Singsong and Yoga is an interactive program. Gina has a musical CD out called "The Blue Alligator." She uses the songs from her CD to promote positive thinking, manage emotions, relax, empower with her positive messages and songs, gain greater self confidence, self awareness and self love. Join our Children's Librarians for our fun Finger Painting program here at the Mokena Library. Come prepared to get messy and be creative! Each Finger Painting, we will have a new theme to guide our painting time together. We will provide all of the painting materials and a disposable smock for each child. Chair yoga is “Yoga for EveryBody”. If you have trouble getting down to the mat, sit at a desk all day, or just want to deepen your practice, chair yoga is for you. If you can breathe, you can do chair yoga. Nancy will guide you through a 45 minute long practice where you’ll learn several ways to practice yoga while seated at your desk, standing by your chair or traveling. You’ll also learn how to synchronize your moves with your breath. Experienced yogis are welcome, too.

Join Certified Personal Trainer, Nancy Richmond as she guides you through pilates exercises which will help develop core strength, posture, and balance. Nancy will be working on strengthening and toning the entire body. Increasing stability, flexibility, and mind body awareness. All fitness levels are welcome! Join us for our new "My First Book Club" for children grades Kindergarten - 2nd. Each month we will read a different book from the Monarch Award list. We will read this month's picture book all together at the start of the program. We will then answer questions and discuss the book as a group. We will have a craft and/or activity to do that goes along with the theme of the story we read together. We will have time for a snack as well. Registration is required. Limit: 15 children Ages: Kindergarten - 2nd grade. Please register each child's name only. Pajama Storytime will be every second Tuesday evening of the month, where our Children’s Librarians will read a few stories centered around a new theme each month.
