FOR GRADES 6 - 12: LIMIT 8

Participants in this program will explore the kokedama art form by shaping a fern’s root system into a living plant sculpture. What is kokedama? Kokedama is a traditional Japanese technique in which a plant’s roots are wrapped in soil, moss, and twine to create a self-contained display that can be set on a surface or hung for a natural, minimalist look.

During the program, participants will prepare the fern, form the moss ball, and finish their piece so it can be taken home and enjoyed. This hands on session is designed for anyone interested in plant care, creative gardening, or unique botanical art.
