Welcome to Mokena Community Public Library's Walking Book Club! We will meet at The Oaks for the walk and the talk. We will be walking for 30 minutes and discuss the book afterwards for 30 minutes. Tom Lake, By Ann Patchett. The Oaks, 10847 W La Porte Rd Mokena IL 60448 You can pick up a copy of the book at the customer service desk. We will meet weekly and discuss a part of the book each meeting. Here is the schedule of chapters per week for this book: Week 1: Chapters 1-5 Week 2: Chapters 6-10 Week 3: Chapters 11-15 Week 4: Chapters 16-21 Please note that Mokena residents are free to enter The Oaks for the walking track, but non-residents will need to pay $3.00 per visit to use the track with us. Please join us in our renewed walking book club!

Priority registration is available exclusively to Mokena library cardholders 72 hours before the scheduled program ensuring that Mokena library cardholders receive the first opportunity to explore and participate in our limited room programs. This is a new procedure for our high demand programs. Non-Mokena Community Public Library District Holders will be placed on a pending wait list until 72 hours prior to the program. If there are openings at that time the wait list will be transferred to the registered list in the order they were added to the wait list.

Join our Children's Librarians for Baby Storytime at the Mokena Library. Come bond with your baby and other families at the library! We will have stations for you to enjoy child-directed play including various board books, sensory play, and art. Our Children's Librarians will also lead us in some stories and music to introduce our littles to Storytime at the library. We look forward to seeing you there! This storytime is designed for children birth - 2 years old, but older siblings are welcome to attend along with their families. Older children should be mindful and make space for little ones during the program. Please, only register children birth - 2 years old. Registration is required. Limit: 15 children Ages: Birth - 2 years old Please register each child's name only. Each month we will read a different Bluestem Award nominated from the 2025 list. Copies of the book will be available at the Customer Service desk for the book discussion; please pick yours up and read the book before the meeting date. We will provide each child with a snack and drink during this fun after school program. If your child has any food allergies, please provide that information into the text box while registering for the program. We want to accommodate everyone and will have a healthy alternative snack for them.
