Learn about the healing properties and the mystical lore of herbs

Herbs have been used by humankind since time immemorial for healing and spiritual protection as well as for culinary purposes.

Join us as we welcome Dezarae' Haley, a Professional Herbalist, and delve into the fascinating history of herbs. You’ll learn about the healing properties and the mystical lore behind some common herbs.

For attending the program you’ll receive a Take & Make Craft using herbs.

Dezarae' is a Professional Herbalist, a Holistic Healthcare Practitioner, an Aromatherapist, and a Holistic Wellness Coach. She has 16 years experience as a Home Herbalist, and has been a Professional Herbalist since 2019. Mokena Community Public Library District Card Holder - Priority Registration

Priority registration is available exclusively to Mokena library cardholders ensuring that Mokena library cardholders receive the first opportunity to explore and participate in our limited room programs. This is a new procedure for our high demand programs. Non-Mokena Community Public Library District Holders will be placed on a pending wait list until 72 hours prior to the program. If there are openings at that time the wait list will be transferred to the registered list in the order they were added to the wait list.

Program Attendance Policy

Please arrive on time for the program. Space is limited so registration is suggested for all programs, regular or limited, unless otherwise noted. Go to our website, call the library at 708-479-9663 or visit the Customer Service Desk to register. If you are registered for a program that you cannot attend, please call at least 24 hours in advance to cancel. You may cancel through your confirmation email, email the     library at programs@mokenalibrary.org or call 708-479-9663. Given the popularity of our limited programs, patrons, who do not cancel their registration 24 hours prior to the event will be considered “No Shows”. If a patron is considered a “No Show” for three limited programs then he, she, or they may be unable to register for future events and will instead be placed on the waitlist.

A limited program is a program that has limited space or limited supplies available.
