Program Description

Event Details

Join us while we paint and decorate glassware and plates for a Painted Plate Garden Stake.  You do not need to have experience painting to make this landscape garden piece.  During the program will be completing the first half of the garden stake project.  You will be painting the pieces to your "flower".

The second half of the project requires you to glue and assemble the stake at home.  Patrons will be given instructions, glue, a coupling piece and threaded rod to complete the project at home. Again, we will not be assembling and gluing the "flower" pieces together at the library.  To ensure that the pieces can withstand all weather conditions, the glue needs 72 hours to cure properly.   Do not worry the assembly process is easy.  If you have any concerns or questions, the instructions can be found in the event listing.

To register please call (708)479-9663 or visit our online calendar at www.mokenalibrary.org.

Mokena Community Public Library District Card Holder - Priority Registration

Priority registration is available exclusively to Mokena library cardholders 72 hours before the scheduled program ensuring that Mokena library cardholders receive the first opportunity to explore and participate in our limited room programs. This is a new procedure for our high demand programs. Non-Mokena Community Public Library District Holders will be placed on a pending wait list until 72 hours prior to the program. If there are openings at that time the wait list will be transferred to the registered list in the order they were added to the wait list.

Program Attendance Policy

Please arrive on time for the program. If you are unable to attend the program, please cancel at least 24 hours before the program begins, by emailing programs@mokena.lib.il.us or calling the Mokena Library at 708-479-9663 and canceling with a librarian. You can also cancel through our Events calendar. After 3 times of being marked absent without cancellation, we will be moving future registrations to the waitlist. This is to accommodate as many patrons as possible due to limited space and popularity of our programs.
