Calling all PEEP-le! It’s that time of year again! Our Peep Diorama Contest will run from Monday, March 24th - Saturday, April 12th.
Show off your creativity and fill the library with the sweet smell of sugar and marshmallow. You can find inspiration wherever you’d like: a cartoon, a book, a comic, a movie, a song, or even real life. As long as you can dream it, then you can design it. All we ask is that you keep the design family friendly and age appropriate. Make sure to use Peeps! Feel free to use toys and other things to help with your design.
There will be 3 grade groups to keep the skill level close to each other: K - 2nd, 3rd - 5th, and 6th - 8th. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place within each group. You must attach the submission form upon drop off, to the bottom of the diorama, to keep things fair and anonymous for our judges. We ask that a parent or guardian fills out the form. If it is illegible, we may not be able to contact you if your diorama is chosen as one of the winners.
Participants may begin to submit their dioramas on March 24th. The submission cutoff date will be on Saturday April 12th, by the library’s closing time. Volunteer judges from the Mokena Friends of the Library will determine this year’s winners. Be sure to stop by the Mokena Library Young Adult Department and Children's Department to see all of the amazing designs on display during the week of Monday, April 14th. We will contact the winners ASAP, during the week of Monday, April 21st - April 26th to pick up your prizes, after all of the votes have been submitted.
- The flyer and the necessary form is available to download on this page, it is listed under "Attachments".
You can pick up your diorama from April 21st - April 26th. If your diorama is not picked up at the end of the day on April 26th, it will be thrown away.
